With his movie career mired in a rut, he took bold strides in other areas of his life, tying the knot with longtime sweetie Ruzan in November and giving notice to his employers at Saturday Night Live.

Following the advice of fellow SNL veteran Bill Murray, the creatively fatigued Myers took a year off after leaving the show to settle into his marriage and get away from the high-pressure lifestyle to which he'd grown accustomed.

At the moment Mike Myers most successful character is Austin Powers, a character that Mike created under the influence of his parents.

He has already made two very successful films with this charicter, "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" and "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" His television career really started in 1988, when he joined Saturday Night Live, where he spent six seasons.
